This is messenger-tote style you get three bags in one. Ideal accessory for work, travel or everyday life. Can be worn as a backpack, cross body bag or handbag. The outside of the tote bag feauter one vertical zippered pocket to hold your frequently used items.

So if you want to use it as a backpack strap, just slide it over the strap on the rectangular metal part.
However, it can be used as a shoulder strap or crossbody strap
